Finally! I just sent my article "De-Colonizing Cyberspace" to the new editor, Francisco Ricardo, of the Cybercultures and New Media book that will be published by Rodopi in the autumn.
It's actually a paper that was written in 2005 for the Cybercultures III conference in Prague in which I look at how the authors Ellen Ullman, Melissa Scott, Jeanette Winterson and Pat Cadigan explore — and decolonize — patterns of power, hierarchy and colonization in their novels. In this paper, I link post-colonial/post-structural/post-modern theory (Deleuze, Guattari, Glissant) to the idea of information and communication technologies, and explore the destabilization and transgression of boundaries that take place in the fictional and digital space these authors create.
Let's just hope there won't be that many corrections... :)
