A Week Full of New Ideas

A very busy week has gone by. Monday was full of meetings; with students where the topic usually was "Which course should I take next?", with the ECTS group concerning Karlstad University's upcoming ECTS application, with colleagues around course related issues, and then I had a seminar with the postcolonial/postmodern "E-course" group where we discussed Jean Rhys' Wide Sargasso Sea.

Tuesday morning was equally full of meetings, and after lunch I picked up Owen Kelly at Karlstad Airport. On his two-day-trip to Karlstad, Owen met with the people here at the English department that might be interested in working with the Multimedia Department at Arcada Polytechnic in Helsinki on the development of the Marinetta project. At the meeting, we had a really good discussion, and it was interesting to see how the "media view" clashed with the "literary view" and hopefully initiated something new and productive. Owen and I then talked about this further over dinner and new ideas seemed to pop up continuously. It will be very interesting to see where this takes us.
